Two cyclists killed in Oklahoma city in two days
August 11
Two times in one weekend, bicycle riders were struck and killed on the same road, within 4 miles of each other. Both incidences occurred on East Britton Road in Eastern Oklahoma City.
There is a large cycling community in the area and they are understandably shaken by these tragedies. They have lost friends, and their friends’ families have lost a loved one. Innocent people are injured every day due to the negligence of others and it just isn’t fair.
By law, motor vehicle drivers are required to give bicycle riders at least three feet when passing. They obviously did not honor this law and should be held accountable for their negligence in a court of law.
